On 20 May 2026, Double Pass once again had the pleasure of supporting the organisation of the Vlaamse Voetbalsterren together with Voetbal Vlaanderen. This annual event celebrates the achievements and commitment of football clubs competing at regional, provincial, and interprovincial levels across Flanders.
The evening brought together clubs from all corners of the Flemish football landscape to recognise the remarkable efforts made both on and off the pitch. Over the course of the season, 160 clubs successfully completed an extensive audit process, earning quality labels that acknowledge their dedication to creating the best possible environment for player development. These labels serve as a testament to the hard work, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by clubs every day in fostering the next generation of football talent.
Several members of the Double Pass team contributed to the evening’s programme. Managing Director Koen Put participated in an insightful panel discussion, sharing perspectives on the future of grassroots football and the continued importance of quality development structures within clubs. Sander Van Praet guided attendees through the expectations associated with the quality labels and presented all participating clubs, highlighting the level at which they compete and the label they achieved. This moment provided well-deserved recognition for every club involved in the process.
To conclude the presentations, Hans Vander Elst offered valuable insights into the audit methodology and reflected on the overall quality standards observed across the different competition levels. His overview highlighted the positive progress being made throughout Flemish football and the growing commitment of clubs to continuous improvement.
Beyond the quality labels, special awards were presented to clubs that distinguished themselves through outstanding performances in social, ethical, and sporting domains. These three pillars represent the foundation of a healthy, sustainable, and forward-looking football club, and the award recipients exemplified excellence in each of these areas.
The Vlaamse Voetbalsterren continues to be an important moment of recognition for the countless volunteers, staff members, coaches, and administrators whose dedication helps shape the future of football in Flanders. Their passion and commitment ensure that young players can develop in safe, structured, and inspiring environments.
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all clubs recognised during the evening. Your efforts continue to raise standards across Flemish football and strengthen the game at every level.
Finally, a special word of thanks goes to our team of auditors. Their expertise, professionalism, and extensive fieldwork throughout the season made this entire process possible. Their contribution plays a crucial role in supporting clubs on their journey towards excellence and continuous development.
Together, we continue to build a stronger future for Flemish football.
