Building Swiss talent development, with clubs at the centre

August 13, 2026

Great talent development doesn’t happen in boardrooms. It happens on training pitches, in academies, and in the daily work of the clubs that shape the next generation of players. That simple idea sits at the heart of a new partnership between Double Pass and the Swiss Football League (SFL).

An analysis built with clubs, not about them

From August to the end of 2026, we’re working alongside the SFL to build a clear, shared picture of talent development across Swiss football; where it stands today, where its real strengths lie, and where there’s untapped potential to build on.

What makes this project different is the approach. Rather than looking at the landscape from the top down, we’re placing clubs at the very centre. Their voices, experiences, and ambitions aren’t a footnote to the analysis — they are the analysis. Through workshops, conversations, and close collaboration, clubs help steer the work and own the outcome. The result is a foundation built with Swiss clubs, not just about them.

From quick wins to long-term change

Together, we’ll explore how talent development is experienced across the Swiss game, identify the quick wins that can make an immediate difference, and surface the bigger, long-term moves that will shape the future of the sport in the country. Beyond the findings themselves, the SFL will gain a practical, modern tool to bring the insights to life, helping leadership communicate with clubs, engage stakeholders, and build a credible, evidence-based case for the future.

For the SFL, it’s a chance to strengthen its role at the heart of Swiss talent development and to open the door to broader national collaboration. For us, it’s exactly the kind of partnership we love: rooted in real relationships, driven by evidence, and focused on lasting impact.

"Creating the best possible environment for talent development is one of the Swiss Football League's key strategic priorities. Together with Double Pass, we want to better understand where we stand today, learn from international best practices, and identify practical opportunities to further strengthen our talent development ecosystem. Throughout this process, our clubs will play a central role."
