Next phase of USA project launched

In June, our Double Pass team was in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles for the USA Project Launch. This ambitious project with U.S. Soccer is in its next phase, where 80 full Development Academy (DA) clubs will be revisited for a second assessment in order to track progress.

The assessment will provide clubs with findings, scores, benchmarks and recommendations in a club specific and Global report. Beside these intrinsic motivators, the better DA clubs will also be rewarded by quality labels and a U.S. Soccer Incentive Fund.

In order to lead this project on track, the Double Pass tool was modified based on a review of learnings from the first cycle, as well as valuable feedback from an Evaluation Task Force with representatives of the USSF, the MLS and 12 clubs. Furthermore, a certification and benchmark model has been developed for PRO and AMA DA’s.

Their expertise has been critically important as we strive to improve talent development models and the everyday environments for youth players, as well as work to make soccer the preeminent sport in the United States”, stated Jared Micklos, Development Academy Director at U.S. Soccer.

Double Pass started the partnership with U.S. Soccer and their Development Academy in 2015, to provide assessments and club support to all Development Academy clubs, Youth National Teams, and professional clubs. The mission of U.S. Soccer Federation is to make soccer the preeminent sport in the United States, among others, by creating environments to develop world-class players to be successful in World Cups and World Championships.
